Command Sergeant Major Michael T. Brooks

Michael T. Brooks

Command Sergeant Major Michael T. Brooks is a native of Newport News, Virginia. He entered the Army in February 1986. He attended Basic Training at Fort Bliss, TX and completed AIT as a Combat Medic at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

His assignments include 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division at Schweinfurt, Germany, 307th Medical Battalion at Fort Bragg, NC, 2-325 Airborne Infantry Regiment at Fort Bragg, NC, 52nd Medical Evacuation Battalion in Korea, 3-504 Parachute Infantry Regiment at Fort Bragg, NC, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences at Bethesda, MD, 782nd Brigade Support Battalion at Fort Bragg, NC, and Walson Army Medical Support Element at Fort Dix, NJ. He served as Troop Command CSM, Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, GA and most recently as the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital CSM.

CSM Brooks has served as an Ambulance Aidman & Driver, Evacuation NCO, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Battalion Training & Operations NCO, First Sergeant, Senior Medical NCO and Command Sergeant Major.

His military and civilian education includes all the NCOES courses, Airborne School, and Jumpmaster Course. He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 57. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information and Sciences from the University of Maryland University College.

CSM Brooks’ awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 Silver OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 Silver OLC), Humanitarian Service Medal ( w/ 1 Star), Combat Medical Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, and Master Parachutist Badge. He is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit.
