Welcome to Womack Army Medical Center located at
Fort Bragg, North Carolina!
One of the busiest military complexes worldwide, Fort Bragg is home to the legendary 82nd Airborne Division, the XVIII Airborne Corps, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, United States Army Forces Command, United States Army Reserve Command and the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights. By population, Fort Bragg is the largest Army installation in the world, home to nearly 10 percent of the Army's active component forces. Womack Army Medical Center, a state-of-the-art medical complex, is an integral component of Fort Bragg's military mission.
Womack Army Medical Center is dedicated to Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant Homer Womack, a courageous medic who gave his life tending to the wounds of his fellow soldiers, even though he, himself, had sustained mortal wounds during a surprise enemy attack in Korea in 1952.
Womack's mission is to provide the highest quality health care, maximize the medical deployability of the force, ensure the combat readiness of Womack's personnel, and sustain exceptional education and training of U.S. Army Medical Department personnel. In support of the Global War on Terror, Womack has deployed significant numbers of healthcare providers to overseas contingency operations.
Womack serves all branches of the military: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard, both Active Duty and Reserve and the National Guard. Womack provides healthcare to more than 199,000 TRICARE beneficiaries. This includes Active Duty service men and women, their families, retirees and their families. Womack physicians, military and civilian, use the latest technology to better serve patients. From interventional radiology techniques to laser eye surgery, our physicians keep their fingers on the pulse of modern medicine. All Womack personnel adhere to the national patient safety goals and Womack is accredited by the Joint Commission.
