Rounds are conducted with the attending staff on all inpatients and include frequent teaching sessions. Clinical clerks will work approximately a 40-hour week and will see approximately 30 patients per week. The rotation will provide excellent exposure to Gastrointestinal radiologic interpretation (including CT and MRI) and standard gastrointestinal diagnostic procedures, such as liver biopsy, endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, as well as therapeutic endoscopy. The extent of the clinical clerks duties and responsibilities would be determined by his/her experience and interest with the emphasis on selecting good teaching cases for the student and close staff supervision.
